US government using highly sophisticated satellite technology to torture citizens

In covert real life experiments on American citizens, which of course the US government denies, the US government has been experimenting with manners in which to mimic mental illness in people for decades. The US government has been using highly sophisticated space age satellite technology for these experiments on citizens, without their consent, of the same nature which is used on hostile, heavily armed enemy forces and terrorists. Therefore, it is no surprise that more and more citizens have manifested emotions of hate in dealing with their own country, which the US government insists are symptoms of mental illness, when in fact such intense emotions of hate are to be anticipated in any normal people directed against any forces which torture them.

The CIA and FBI have clearly felt over the years that allegations of mental illness are the most effective manner in which to neutralize the presence of perfectly sane radicals who are primarily poor on the planet and so they have invested heavily in covert experiments on the public aimed at mimicking mental illness in people. The like-minded diabolically insane American psychiatrists have supported this tyranny all along. In fact a primary criteria for US government support of Chairman’s of Academic Psychiatry Departments and Psychiatry Residency Training Directors across the United States is that they blindly accept US government covert policies of using psychiatry to manipulate the public with torture. Threats of withdrawals of US government funding for University medical centers are made if rebellious staff members are not pushed out of their jobs.

Initially kidnappings to the mental hospitals, which are actually no different than political concentration camps, the highly toxic arsenal of psychiatric drugs, beatings, rapes, isolation chambers, psychosurgery and swift, fixed civil court orders for psychiatric intervention used to legalize this barbarism were the primary arsenal of weapons used by the US government and psychiatrists against the random targets of this US government styled tyranny. In more recent years satellite transmitted electronic torture has also become a part of the arsenal of madness of the “US Psychiatric Torture and Killing Machine”.

Sadistic US federal agents are paid huge salaries to sit behind computers which direct satellite transmitted electromagnetic waves into the brains of anyone in the country or overseas at anytime. The technology behind this is similar to the technology used for mobile phones and satellite TVs with the human brain being used as transmission and reception centers. And so not only has Uncle Sam been directing high powered electromagnetic waves into people’s brains in order to dangerously disrupt normal brain functioning and create abnormal thoughts and behaviors in people, these agents have also been using this technology to actually read people’s minds.

All of this is used to drive people into states of hysteria mimicking mental illness. The apparent goal of the US government aside from pure sadism is to implement this modern day torture into initiatives to work with the psychiatrists to gain 100% control of the thoughts, feelings, and actions of the public therefore completely dehumanizing the human experience in the USA and elsewhere. And when there are problems with some people who figure this out and fight back for a respect for the independence of their own thoughts, feelings, and actions the US government working with the American psychiatrists simply has them intentionally misdiagnosed as seriously mentally ill and intellectually compromised when in fact the victims of this tyranny are generally very intelligent and emotionally warm and stable people.

As far as assertions by the US government behind closed doors that all of this is nevertheless has been used by many foreign powers against their own citizens too, although that may be true, nevertheless that does not excuse the United States from hypocritically ignoring the dangerous and painful violations of human rights associated with such tyranny. Far more otherwise potentially healthy and productive American lives have been tragically wasted by this modern day torture than have been alleged to have been wasted under the regimes of Saddam Hussein in Iraq and Colonel Gaddafi in Libya , and these abuses continue at this moment across the United States.

“Killing Jews is worship that brings us closer to Allah” Add Campaign

Controversial posters that state “Killing Jews is worship that draws us close to Allah” will be allowed to appear on public buses and trains in New York City. On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge John Koeltl ruled against the city’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), which had tried to reject the advertisements on the grounds that they might incite violence against Jews.

MTA staff “underestimate the tolerant quality of New Yorkers and overestimate the potential impact of these fleeting advertisements,” wrote Judge Koeltl in his decision. “Moreover, there is no evidence that seeing one of these advertisements on the back of a bus would be sufficient to trigger a violent reaction. Therefore, these ads—offensive as they may be—are still entitled to First Amendment protection.”

Pamela Geller, president of the American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI), called the ruling “a triumph for liberty and free speech.” AFDI, a pro-Israel advocacy group, is behind both the MTA lawsuit and the posters, which feature a young Muslim man in a headscarf (ostensibly) expressing the murdering-Jews-pleases-Allah sentiment. “That’s His Jihad,” the ads read. “What’s yours?”

AFDI claims its goal is to criticize Hamas and radical Islam. But in creating anti-Semitic, pro-violence ads that can easily be read as created by Muslims, it seems the group—which has routinely described Muslims as “savages”—may have another agenda, as well.

“Whatever you make of the group, AFDI has been remarkably successful in bringing its message to America,” notes Michael E. Miller at The Washington Post. “AFDI has filed at least nine lawsuits across the country, often against cities or their contractors that refuse to display their messages,” which also include a depiction of Muslim leaders meeting with Adolf Hitler.

While private transit companies could reject such messages, ad space on public transportation is subject to the First Amendment. Perhaps people should rethink their support for government-run transit—not free speech—if this situation bothers them. Another way around the issue without infringing on constitutional rights would be for MTA to ban all advertisements or at least all non-commercial advertisements (something it won’t do because it needs that revenue). As long as buses and subways are government run, however, and as long as they allow political messaging of some sort, we simply can’t have city officials judging which political messages deserve broadcast and which do not.

MTA at least knew that it couldn’t make arbitrary, content-based distinctions on which political ads it would allow, which is why it tried to claim the AFDI ad goes beyond being offensive to actuallyinciting violence—an assertion Judge Koeltl wholly rejected. “The defendants contend that the advertisement could be read as urging a subset of Islamic extremists to follow Hamas’s command, but if that group is as violent and radicalized as the defendants contend, presumably they would not need a bus advertisement to remind them of Hamas’s interpretation of the Quran,” he wrote.

As to MTA’s claim that allowing the ad would run counter to public interest? “Securing First Amendment rights,” wrote Koeltl (quoting an earlier case), “is in the public interest.”

Giant Foot Print In Africa

Giant-Foot-Print1

This is a really awesome find! Now I don’t believe that it is millions of years old as the article says but that’s a different story. I believe that if this is legitimate that it is a print left behind from the Nephilim. Below in the article they give a Genesis 6 reference but there are more:

We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” Numbers 13:33

All the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei, who remained of the remnant of the giants: for these did Moses defeat, and cast them out. Joshua 13:12

Who was Og?

For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbah of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man. Deuteronomy 3:11

The Scripture above is just a few examples of many in the Bible of the giants aka Nephilim, Rephaim ,Zamzummim and Anakim. So here is the article below that was carried from worldtruth.tv:

Here is more proof that the Bible does not lie and backs up everything that was written within it. Just as it is written in the Book of Genesis:  “There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.” Genesis 6:4

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=dRuxw-nZoJw

Michael Tellinger shows off what could be one of the best pieces of evidence that there were giants on Earth a long, long time ago. Geologists have marveled at this giant foot print in rough granite, about 4 feet long. Some still say that it is a natural erosion pattern.
Personally I find that suggestion highly improbable for various reasons that I will not go into here. Prof. Pieter Wagener from UPE, suggests that “there is a higher probability of little green men arriving from space and licking it out with their tongues, than being created by natural erosion”.

It is located in South Africa, near the town of Mpaluzi, close to the Swaziland border. It is estimated to be between 200 million and 3 Billion years old because of our current understanding of the formation of granites in Earth’s history. This dating immediately causes great debate and argument – so I urge you to keep your mind open and focused on the evidence.

This amazing footprint in granite was discovered in 1912 by a hunter called Stoffel Coetzee, while hunting in the remote area. At the time this was a deeply remote part of South Africa known as the Eastern Transvaal, teeming with wild life, including antelope and lions. It remains in the same condition as it was when first discovered and the possibility that this was a carved hoax is extremely low because of its remote location. Even today, it is difficult to find.

The real mystery is how this amazing phenomenon occurred – I have no idea – but here it is and we cannot wish it away.
YES – It is granite – it is a well recognized geological part of South Africa and recorded on all geological maps – that is why this footprint is such an incredible mystery. It can be described as a “phenocrystic” granite, OR coarse porphyritic granite, that underwent several different stages of cooling. The result being an interesting mixture of large and small granules. This is why granite companies are keen to mine this area for granite because it will look really “pretty” when polished. In the official Geology Of South Africa, this outcrop is called Mpuluzi Batholith (Granite) and the official dating of this rock produced dates of around 3,1 billion years.
A real mystery that needs close scientific examination.

The laser that can make it rain: Researchers unveil radical system to start storms

lightning-2a7z2

Researchers have developed a new technique to cause rain and lighting by firing a laser at clouds.

The technique uses a ‘double laser’ to stimulate particles within a cloud.

The technique could one day be used to create rainstorms and even lighting on command, the researchers hope.

The researchers at the University of Central Florida’s College of Optics & Photonics and the University of Arizona developed  a new technique to aim a high-energy laser beam into clouds to make it rain or trigger lightning.

They found the key was to surround the beam with a second beam to act as an energy reservoir, sustaining the central beam to greater distances than previously possible.

The secondary ‘dress’ beam refuels and helps prevent the dissipation of the high-intensity primary beam, which on its own would break down quickly.

A report on the project, ‘Externally refueled optical filaments,’ was recently published in Nature Photonics.

Water condensation and lightning activity in clouds are linked to large amounts of static charged particles.

Stimulating those particles with the right kind of laser holds the key to possibly one day summoning a shower when and where it is needed.

Lasers can already travel great distances but “when a laser beam becomes intense enough, it behaves differently than usual – it collapses inward on itself,’ said Matthew Mills, a graduate student in the Center for Research and Education in Optics and Lasers (CREOL).

‘The collapse becomes so intense that electrons in the air’s oxygen and nitrogen are ripped off creating plasma – basically a soup of electrons.’

At that point, the plasma immediately tries to spread the beam back out, causing a struggle between the spreading and collapsing of an ultra-short laser pulse.

This struggle is called filamentation, and creates a filament or ‘light string’ that only propagates for a while until the properties of air make the beam disperse.

‘Because a filament creates excited electrons in its wake as it moves, it artificially seeds the conditions necessary for rain and lightning to occur,’ Mills said.

Other researchers have caused ‘electrical events’ in clouds, but not lightning strikes.

The team is now developing a way to get close enough to direct the beam into the cloud without being blasted to smithereens by lightning.

‘What would be nice is to have a sneaky way which allows us to produce an arbitrary long ‘filament extension cable,’ the researchers say.

The technique could one day be used to create rainstorms and even lighting on command, the researchers hope. The technique uses a 'double laser' to stimulate particles within a cloud.

‘It turns out that if you wrap a large, low intensity, doughnut-like ‘dress’ beam around the filament and slowly move it inward, you can provide this arbitrary extension,’ Mills said.

‘Since we have control over the length of a filament with our method, one could seed the conditions needed for a rainstorm from afar.

‘Ultimately, you could artificially control the rain and lightning over a large expanse with such ideas.’

So far, Mills and fellow graduate student Ali Miri have been able to extend the pulse from 10 inches to about 7 feet. And they’re working to extend the filament even farther.

‘This work could ultimately lead to ultra-long optically induced filaments or plasma channels that are otherwise impossible to establish under normal conditions,’ said professor Demetrios Christodoulides, who is working with the graduate students on the project.

‘In principle such dressed filaments could propagate for more than 50 meters or so, thus enabling a number of applications.

‘This family of optical filaments may one day be used to selectively guide microwave signals along very long plasma channels, perhaps for hundreds of meters.’

Other possible uses of this technique could be used in long-distance sensors and spectrometers to identify chemical makeup.

Netanyahu to Palestinians: When you want peace, let us know

netanyahu-mad

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu criticized the Palestinian Authority on Monday, saying that its threat to dissolve and the ruling Fatah faction’s efforts to forge unity with Hamas indicate a lack of desire for peace.

“Today, we saw the Palestinian Authority speak of dismantling itself and also talking about unity with Hamas,” the premier told revelers at a Mimuna celebration in Or Akiva. “They should decide – either dissolve, or enter into a union with Hamas. When they want peace, they should let us know. Because we want a genuine peace.”

Palestinian officials in Ramallah on Monday denied that the Palestinian Authority has been considering dissolving itself if the peace talks with Israel fail.

Some officials were quoted over the past few days as saying that President Mahmoud Abbas has threatened to dismantle the PA in protest against the lack of progress in the negotiations.

The reported threat, which comes as the April 29 deadline for the end of the peace talks approaches, is seen as an attempt to exert pressure on the US and Israel to comply with Palestinian demands, especially regarding the release of prisoners.

Members of the Fatah Central Committee who met in Ramallah on Monday night to discuss the crisis in the peace talks did not have the issue of dissolving the PA on their agenda, according to a senior Fatah official.

Gen. Adnan Dmeiri, spokesman for the PA security establishment, dismissed the talk about dissolving the PA as an “Israeli invention.” Israel was trying to create frustration among Palestinians by spreading such reports, he claimed.

The PLO Central Council, which is expected to meet later this week, does not plan to discuss the dismantlement of the PA, said Wasel Abu Yusef, a top PLO official.

The council would discuss the situation in Jerusalem, the prisoner release and efforts to establish a Palestinian unity government headed by Abbas, Abu Yusef said.

“No one is talking about the option of dissolving the Palestinian Authority,” he said.

“Rather, we are talking about international recognition of a Palestinian state and our efforts to join international treaties and organizations.”

Another PLO official, Qais Abu Laila, also ruled out the possibility that the PA might be dismantled. He said that this was “unrealistic” option and would not be on the agenda of the PLO council meeting. “I don’t believe that dismantling the Palestinian Authority is a healthy and right measure,” he said. “This would be suicidal.”

PLO Executive Committee member Tayseer Khaled said the dismantlement of the PA was not on the table. The Palestinians should instead reconsider their relations with Israel if the peace talks fail, especially with regards to economic and security cooperation, he said.

“If Israel does not abide by the agreements, the Palestinians also won’t adhere to them,” Khaled said.

However, the Palestinian Ma’an news agency quoted unnamed sources in the PA leadership as saying that the PA might be dissolved as a result of Israeli “intransigence.”

The sources said that the PLO’s Negotiating Department has begun studying ways of dissolving the PA and the repercussions of such a move.

The threat to solve the PA was not an “exercise,” the sources said. This option is on the table, they added.

US State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki, meanwhile, said the dissolution of the Palestinian Authority would constitute an “extreme step” that would “obviously have grave implications.”

“We, the United States, have put millions of dollars into this effort. It would obviously have very serious implications for our relationship, including our assistance going forward,” she warned at her daily press briefing in Washington.

“A great deal of effort has gone into building Palestinian institutions, by Palestinians, as well as by the international community,” she said. “It would certainly not be in the interest of the Palestinian people for all of that to be lost.”

Provocation the name of the game as crisis escalates

5DE61A3C-1979-4652-9F34-3633A6036128_w974_n_s

A fighter jet flies above as Ukrainian soldiers sit on an armoured personnel carrier in Kramatorsk, in eastern Ukraine

That term was duly used to describe yesterday’s bloodshed in Slavyansk, a town of 100,000 people under the total control of separatists.

The fact that “provocation” is the word of the day shows how dangerous this crisis has become. More than anything else, Ukraine’s government fears an unstoppable Russian invasion. Arseniy Yatsenyuk, the Ukrainian prime minister, believes that President Vladimir Putin has a “dream to restore the Soviet Union”.

But Mr Putin would need an excuse – or a “provocation” – before he could order the 40,000 Russian troops massed on Ukraine’s eastern frontier to advance.

Last Sunday, Ukraine’s leaders risked handing him that pretext when they announced a military offensive against the separatists in Donetsk region. As it turned out, this operation swiftly became a fiasco when Ukrainian soldiers surrendered their weapons rather than confront pro-Russian civilians.

Now that a Ukrainian assault seems unlikely to provoke Mr Putin, incidents such as the one in Slavyansk pose the greatest danger. Vyacheslav Ponomaruv, the separatist mayor of the town, duly called on Russia to send “peacekeeping” troops to Donetsk to “protect” the Russian-speaking population.

If Mr Putin wants to invade, he can argue that he was merely answering the pleas of his compatriots, who were dying in mysterious gun attacks that Ukraine’s own government was, at the very least, incapable of preventing.

But the Ukrainian authorities fear that Mr Putin is in the business of manufacturing his own excuses. They see the hand of Russian intelligence behind yesterday’s incident – and indeed all the occupations in Donetsk. Western governments broadly agree: they interpret the sudden birth of the “Donetsk People’s Republic” – and the promise to hold a referendum on the region’s status by May 11 – as evidence of a Russian plan to dismember Ukraine.

Congressmen make bipartisan call for more Russia sanctions amid deadly Ukraine violence

Russian-money-1024x819

A Democrat and Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee agreed Sunday that Russian President Vladimir Putin has ignored U.S. and European pleas to withdraw military troops from Ukraine and called for tougher economic sanctions, following a deadly shootout this weekend. “I don’t think Putin really believes we’re going to punish them in that way,” Tennessee GOP Sen. Bob Corker, the committee’s senior Republican member, said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Sen. Chris Murphy, a Connecticut Democrat and fellow committee member, said: “I think the time is now to rapidly ratchet up our sanctions, whether it’s on Russian petrochemical companies or on Russian banks.”

The senators made their comments after at least three people were killed in the Easter morning shooting and as tens of thousands of Russian troops occupy the Ukraine-Russian border and Moscow operatives purportedly infiltrate eastern Ukraine to stir opposition toward that country’s new, temporary government. Both sides blamed each other for the shootout, at a checkpoint manned by pro-Russia insurgents in eastern Ukraine. Russia’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement blaming militant Ukrainian nationalists, and Russian state television stations aired pictures of supposed proof of their involvement in the attack. The Ukrainian Security Service said the attack was staged by provocateurs from outside the country. The clash, near the city of Slovyansk, appears to be the first since an international agreement was reached last week in Geneva to ease tensions in eastern Ukraine, where armed pro-Russia activists have seized government buildings in at least 10 cities. Russia last month annexed Ukraine’s Crimean Peninsula. The political upheaval in Ukraine has been going on for months, with citizens in February ousting their Moscow-backed president. The Russian ambassador to Ukraine told “Fox News Sunday” that his country is not on a military march into Eastern Europe and surrounding regions and blamed militia groups for the recent violence in Ukraine. “We are not going anywhere,” Ambassador Sergey Kislyak said. Kislyak repeatedly told Fox News that peace in that region cannot be achieved until “all” militia groups drop their weapons. And he attempted to downplay President Obama’s vow last week that additional economic sanctions will be imposed if Putin forces continue to fuel the unrest in Eastern Europe. “We can withstand the pressures,” said Kislyak, suggesting the United States had returned to a Cold War mentality that has no place in the 21st century. Obama has said his administration is prepared to take further action against Russia if diplomatic efforts to destabilize the conflict fail. Vice President Biden plans to be in Kiev, the Ukrainian capital, on Monday and Tuesday to meet with government leaders and democracy advocates. Corker, who plans to be in the region in May, also said the U.S. should be sanctioning some of the companies in the energy sector and large banks if Putin fails to immediately begin moving the 40,000 troops on the border, which are intimidating people in Ukraine.” Geoffrey Pyatt, the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, told CNN’s “State of the Union” the international agreement forged late last week may be “the best chance that we have got to achieve a diplomatic de-escalation of this crisis.” However, he also said he’s seen reports of progress, including one Sunday morning that state at least one of the occupied government buildings now has a Ukrainian flag flying overhead. source

US ready to target Russian president’s hidden $40bn stash

vladimir-putin-angry

The United States has been preparing to take the lead in enforcing a tougher sanctions regime on the Kremlin, and, according to officials, was ready to target the personal fortune of Vladimir Putin.

The US has made plain that it was preparing to raise substantially the costs of Russian interference in the region, and the warning that more sanctions were being prepared against the highest echelons of the Kremlin, was one of Mr Kerry’s main bargaining chips in the talks in Geneva last night.

“We are actively preparing new sanctions,” Jay Carney, the White House spokesman said.

This Means War: US To Target Putin’s Personal $40 Billion Stash

While the White House has continually threatened further sanctions against Russia for non-de-escalation (even as it un-de-escalates itself), the specifics of the additional sanctions have been sparse. German CEO warnings over blowback from economic sanctions… the “nonsense” of replacing Russian gas with US gasthe Russian warnings of “interdependence” and “boomerangs”… all reduce the West’s arsenal of financial sanctions. But, as The Times of London reports, perhaps the US has found a crucial pain point for Putin – a sanctions regime that would target Putin’s personal wealth, which includes a reported $40 billion stashed in Swiss bank accounts.

As The Hill reports,

The White House on Friday refused to comment on reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s personal wealth could be targeted if the West were to move ahead with additional sanctions over Ukraine.

I’m not going to get into foreshadowing particular individuals or entities that the United States may target,” national security adviser Susan Rice told reporters at the White House. “But let me just say we’ve been clear that there are additional individuals, officials, close associates of senior leadership, oligarchs and those entities that they are associated with that remain very much potential targets of additional sanctions.”

The Times of London reported Friday that the U.S. was preparing a sanctions regime that would target Putin’s personal wealth, which includes a reported $40 billion stashed in Swiss bank accounts.

Putin’s actual holdings are a tightly held secret, and the extent of his holdings are difficult to estimate. But a threat of trying to freeze the Russian president’s personal assets could have played a role in a deal brokered Thursday by foreign ministers from the U.S., Ukraine, Russia and European Union.

Perhaps it is worth remembering Putin’s response from last week’s Q&A

Putin was asked why the US can do whatever it wants and no one punishes them, while attempts are being made to punish Russia.

“The US is certainly one of the world’s leaders. At some point it seemed that it was the only leader and a uni-polar system was in place. Today it appears that is not the case. Everything in the world is interdependent and once you try to punish someone, in the end you will cut off your nose to spite your face,” he said.

Though we are sure Obama and his team have considered all the intended and unintended consequences of any such actions.

Rocky landslide slowly devours part of Wyoming resort town

What’s happening in this Wyoming resort town might be better described as a land creep than a landslide, but the lack of speed has not hindered the sheer power of the moving earth.

Over the past two weeks, a piece of East Gros Ventre Butte has slowly collapsed toward the west side of Jackson — shearing one hillside home in half, threatening to devour several others and looming ever more ominously over a cluster of businesses below.

No one can say precisely when the mountainside will cease its slow droop into Jackson or finally give way. But it appears increasingly likely that it’s going to take a piece of Jackson with it.

Emergency workers have tried in vain to shore up slow-moving slope, attracting a steady parade of the curious and camera-wielding gawkers.

“We don’t know what Mother Nature wants to do here. She’s shown us quite a bit,” Jackson Fire Chief Willy Watsabaugh said as he stood at the edge of the slide zone, its rocky slope rising sharply behind him.

The rate of movement slowed Saturday, giving crews a chance to get back in and reassess the damage, Watsabaugh said. The chief said he’s seen many slides in the mountains around Jackson but never one in town.

Town officials first noticed significant hill movement on April 4. They evacuated 42 homes and apartment units on April 9.

Workers and residents had watched helplessly on Thursday and Friday as a sudden acceleration of movement prompted authorities to suspend their efforts to shore up the slope as falling rocks created a hazard.

Work resumed over the weekend with a new focus: repairing some of the damage the slide already has caused, including a break in a sewer line on Friday. On Saturday evening, officials postponed the sewer line work until Monday because of access issues.

Bart Moudy, a construction manager from Etna, a town south of Jackson, said he has been keeping a close eye on the slide as the small cracks initially seen at the top of the slope widened.

“It’s a little reminder of where we live — in a dynamic region,” he said. “It’s amazing. We were looking at on Friday, and it’s moved a bunch since then.”

Authorities are looking into whether recent construction at the foot of East Gros Ventre Butte made the slope unstable. They say there could be a variety of other causes, including prior construction at the site, warmer weather and a wet winter that put more water into the ground, where it acts as a lubricant for unstable rocks and soil.

By Saturday morning, the shifting earth had caused bulges in a road and a parking lot at the foot of the hill that were as big as 10 feet. The groundswell pushed a small town water pump building 15 feet toward West Broadway, the town’s main drag.

Because of its more stable geology, the slope is unlikely to suddenly collapse like the March 22 landslide in Oso, Wash., that killed 39 people, experts said. More likely, large blocks of earth would tumble down piece by piece.

The ground had been moving initially at a rate of an inch a day. That’s is expected to speed up as time goes on, said George Machan, a landslide specialist consulting for the town.

Rockslides are common in the surrounding Rocky Mountains in the spring, when melting snow and warmer weather unleash the region’s dynamic geology. In the early 1920s, a massive slide caused by heavy rains north of Jackson formed a natural dam across a small river. The dam gave way two years later, unleashing a flood that killed six people.

But other factors appear to be in play on East Gros Ventre Butte, a small mountain that looms over the west side of town, its base dotted with homes and businesses.

The area of the landslide has been graded for roads and businesses in recent years, including a new Walgreens. That could have weakened the hillside and set the stage for its collapse.

Landslides in scenic, mountainous areas like Jackson are a lot like the wildfires that occur in the same areas. Both hazards are natural events that present more of a problem when people move in and build subdivisions or shopping areas.

“When you add it up, it’s actually a major geological hazard,” said David Montgomery, a geology professor at the University of Washington in Seattle. “As more people move into more mountainous environments, the opportunities for interactions between human infrastructure and people, and landslides, increase.”

Warrantless bag searches become ubiquitous for Boston subway, bus travelers

MBTA-Boston-Checkpoints2

BOSTON, MA — Warrantless bag searches at have become commonplace at travel checkpoints in Boston as concerns for Homeland Security have overridden citizens’ right to be free of unreasonable searches.  Travelers are forced to “security inspections” of their handbags, briefcases, and other personal possessions.

Large signs indicate that public spaces under the authority of the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) are void of privacy rights.  The first bullet point on one of the signs displayed the following:

For the protection and the security of the riding public, all persons choosing to use the MBTA transit system will be subject to security inspections of their handbags, briefcases, and/or other carry on items.

The signage goes on to claim that all persons will be stopped and searched and that declining a search will result in an order to leave the station.  Those who object will be arrested and charged with trespassing — on public property — which could result in a $100 fine and up to 30 days in jail.

A handout indicates "MBTA property" to be a 4th Amendment Free Zone. (Source: Bay State Examiner)

The Bay State Examiner published a video of one of the checkpoints, located in the Chinatown area, which was staffed by approximately half a dozen armed, badge-carrying checkpoint officers.  Individuals from a group called “Defend the 4th” [Amendment] entered the subway station and asked the officers a few questions.

When an individual asked the checkpoint sentries whether they had warrants to conduct any of the bag searches, the leader grew annoyed and insisted that searching bags was legal and had been accepted as legal by the SJC (Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts).  The officer then insisted he citizens move along or leave the station — located on public property.

Of course the courts have upheld warrantless searches in public; no one ever believed that a police state could be erected without the complicity of all three branches of government.  The courts have tolerated a constant erosion of essential rights for a long time.  The enforcers bypass critical questions about their oaths by passing off their constitutional responsibilities to another branch of government.

But we must ask, if the 4th Amendment isn’t applicable on public property, where is it applicable?

A sign in a Boston metro warns travelers that they have no rights on public property. (Source: Bay State Examiner / YouTube)

The signs and the literature explain that the checkpoints have been installed because of concerns raised by Department of Homeland Security.  Searching purses and luggage is the government’s solution to combating terrorism.

Yet isn’t the subversion of liberty exactly what a true terrorist would wish upon his enemies?  Isn’t the existence of checkpoints across the USA an indication that the “terrorists” have won?

And what effectiveness do these checkpoints have at stopping an attack?  Would any committed terrorist be imbecilic enough to walk up to a bunch of cops in yellow vests and hand over evidence that would lead to his conviction?

Here is the video of the Boston checkpoint for “Defend the 4th”:
